Do you want a bang for your buck?
My boyfriends bff, recommended this spot to us while we were at lanakai beach and told us they had the best lunch plates. Although, we weren't hungry I told my bf we had to make a stop anyways. Me, my bf, my daughter and two birdies shared the mixed bbq plate. It had bbq short ribs, chicken, teriyaki steak, 2 scoops of rice and potato salad. The portions here are huge!
This was definitely a mom and pop local joint, nothing much from the outside but bursting with flavors inside. -

This little spot was located close to our rental house, so we decided to give it a try - and boy, were we pleasantly surprised! Upon entering, my husband and I both ordered one of the combination plates, and they were not only large portions, but fantastic food. Mac salad and rice were perfect - chicken, pork, and fish were great. I will definitely be back next time we're on Oahu!
The representative who helped us was friendly, and let us know that our food would be ready in 10 minutes - but not 5 minutes later, they already had it done. -

I was in the kailua area and super hungry. I wanted a plate lunch with combos to choose from so i seen this place on yelp. I got their combo with chicken katsu, mahi mahi & fried shrimp. super good!!! although pretty pricey. my total came out to $11. It's worth it though BUT i did not like the service there only because the lady behind the counter was very snobby and was rude. she gave us a mean look and did not smile at all. I dont think I would go back here :(

BEST CHICKEN KARAAGE ON THE ISLAND.
I know, it's a bold statement to make. Give them a try and tell me I'm wrong.
We have not had one plate that was poorly cooked in any way. Always cooked to perfection. Amazing taste. Great serving size. Competitive and reasonable prices!
When you're on the Windward side looking for plate lunch, forget L&L (sorry L&L you're still super good) and check this place out for once! You'll eat an entire plate yourself and all of a sudden it'll hit you that you ate all that food. -

Decent spot for quick plate lunches. I stopped here after a day at the beach and got the chicken katsu mini plate. It's about $7 for a lot of food and the quality of the chicken was great. The mac salad, on the other hand, was subpar. I like that there are locals coming in and out- it shows this place it pretty legit- however, the restaurant itself was somewhat dirty and messy. I had to eat outside.
